Day 7 - June 4, 2012


i have to start today's blog with this disclaimer and word of warning to anyone reading this.....

if you go on this 24 day challenge, or ANY diet plan that gives you more energy.... if you decide to work out... keep in mind your actual fitness level, not the one you think you can do because you feel so good.



i had a lot of difficulty getting out of bed this morning...

not because i was tired... sleepy... or lacked the energy...

but simply because my muscles HURT!!!!!!!! lol



i did not realize until this exact moment just how out of shape i am..... i will keep exercising tho.. just think i will tone it down a bit to fit my actual ability..... :) it is a good type of pain tho... i can feel that my body is working and that feels good. it is very surprising, however, that even feeling muscle soreness makes me want to do more... it's pride i guess.. knowing that i am doing what i need to make my body, my health and my life better... like i said.. it's a good kind of pain :)



Wake up - took 2 Probiotic Restore before getting in the shower..... which reminds me.. tomorrow i start the Fiber Drinks again.... what fun :)



8am - breakfast.... took 2 Omegaplex and then at breakfast on my way to work... a banana and half a shake this morning.... easiest thing to have while driving to work :)



decided to have a Spark to start my workday.. i am really feeling sore in my legs and arms and need a boost.... a Spark is exactly what i needed... :) i also notice i have been able to focus more and not get as distracted.... I’ve been told that is part of the effect Spark has...a bit of help with mental focus... love it!



i noticed something worth mentioning.... for most of my adult life i have had to take Acid control medication for gastric reflux... I’ve been on Aciphex, Zantac, Nexium, Prilosec.. and recently Omeprazole... my prescription ran out 2 days before starting the 24 day challenge and i have not yet been able to get it refilled...... in the past, if i went 2 days without taking the meds, the acid was unbearable and I’d be popping Tums like they were candy.......

but now?

i haven't had the medication in a week... and i still don't need it... and i have not used any Tums except 1 on day 1. it's amazing that i can eat and not have pain from acid reflux.. and i don't think it is so much of the vitamins and supplements the cleanse gives you... but it's that i am eating food that is so much better for me than the crap i was eating before..... it feels truly amazing... i never knew just changing my eating habits really were part of the solution..

10am - finished the rest of the shake for snack... shared tastes with a couple of coworkers too.. i think they could benefit from doing the 24 day challenge, so i didn't mind at all sharing with them to show them it really does taste good :)



12:30pm - Lunch! it sure is a good thing this plan recommends salad.. and that i really do love it.. lol! today i had salad with tuna fish..... i think they need to rename it Tuna in a pouch since single servings are not easily found in cans anymore.. lol... but these pouches sure are handy at work,.. lol!! yet again i am still amazed and so proud of myself at how well i am eating.....



3:30pm - snack time!... i feel like i am in kindergarten again... keep looking at the clock because i know i will get to have that yummy snack soon :) today it's peanuts... yummy! if i really wanted to be a kindergartner again i suppose i could pack a spoonful of natural peanut butter and spend 10 minutes licking the spoon :)... hmmm... how that would stir up some interesting conversation in the office :)



i am starting to feel the tired ache in my leg muscles again so i think i will have another Spark to get me through the rest of this workday! and the errands i have to run this evening! SO glad i packed a second one :) guess my brain was thinking ahead when i packed my lunchbox this morning.......

yes... i have a lunch box... and it's green and Tigger... 2 of my favorite things :)



so i tried a new flavor of Spark.. Cherry.... the orange tastes like Tang.. and cherry tastes kind of similar to cherry or fruit punch Kool-Aid, but without the Kool-Aid aftertaste... does that make sense? and, of course, without the Kool-Aid smile.. lol... i am sure we ALL remember that beautifully dyed upper lip... made me look like the Joker when i was a kid.. lol! but really... i like this flavor :)



6:30pm - Dinner!.. we are out running errands so i leave it up to my husband pick a place to eat... and he picks Chili's... yet another of my favorite restaurant... and guess what? i discovered a whole new section of their menu that i never knew was there.... all sorts of healthy fare... i had the Sweet and Spicy chicken, with brown rice and corn on the cob...... supposed to be 725 calories total.... and it was the perfect amount of food... i didn't even finish it all... so yummy! lucky me, i planned ahead and remembered to bring 2 Omegaplex with me since they should be taken with food :)

the meal was so delicious i really need to find the recipe and try it at home...



bedtime... decided against a snack tonight... i wasn't going to force feed myself if i didn't really need it.... wow.. that sure is a change from a month ago.. lol... took the herbal Cleanse tablets before bed, and i think i will sleep like a baby tonight :)
